The Illam Hospitality project in Sholinganallur exemplifies how Ping managed an end-to-end branding endeavor for a luxury convention hall and center in Chennai. To fully understand the needs of the hospitality industry, the Ping team visited a hotel, immersing themselves in the environment to gather insights. This hands-on experience fueled their creative process, guiding them in crafting a brand identity that resonates with both comfort and sophistication.
The client's affinity for browns, tradition, and ancient aesthetics played a pivotal role in the design process. Inspired by these preferences, the team focused on creating a logo that encapsulated luxury in a minimalist yet traditional design. The chosen emblem features a traditional rangoli design, which harmoniously aligns with the name "Illam," and the use of earthy brown tones enhances the brand's ethos of simplicity and tradition.
This project became a favorite among the Ping team, providing a unique opportunity to experiment with various branding designs within a single brand. The comprehensive branding strategy covered everything from the logo to smaller yet significant elements like apron designs, room key cards, menu boards, table mats, in-room service kits, branded toiletries, and signage boards. Each element was thoughtfully designed to maintain a cohesive and beloved brand identity that perfectly resonates with the luxurious and welcoming essence of Illam Hospitality.
